Welcome

I’m Madison, the writer and curator behind Cardinal North Studio, a visual journal documenting our journey of slow, intentional island living.

For the past decade, I traveled to Trinidad & Tobago as a visitor with my husband, a Trinidadian native. Eventually, we traded the fast-paced rhythm of Canada for the warm, unhurried embrace of the Caribbean—seeking beauty, authenticity, and connection in every experience.

Through this blog, I share the story of our migration from Canada to Tobago, uncovering hidden gems, the best things to do, and the essence of island life. Whether it’s boutique stays, cultural insights, or the art of slow travel, my goal is to inspire meaningful and mindful adventures.

When I’m not behind the camera or crafting stories, you’ll find me lost in a good book, chasing golden sunsets, or immersed in nature with my camera in hand.

Welcome to the journey. I hope this space accurately captures the beauty that is Tobago and that you can one day experience this for yourself.
