The Best Rum Punch in Tobago: 10 Must Try Spots
Rum punch is more than just a drink Tobago – it’s part of the island’s identity. Sweet, strong and dangerously easy to sip, every bar and restaurant adds their own twist. After plenty of taste-testing, here’s our round up of the best rum punches in Tobago.
I recently took a trip to Barbados and had rum punch there for the first time. It was good, but didn’t have the same kick of rum punch in Tobago. I must say, I don’t think any other island’s rum punch stands a chance against Tobago’s.
From Crown Point to Black Rock, find our top spots below. A map can be found below to help guide you on your next rum punch crawl in Tobago.
1. Bago’s Beach Bar (Crown Point)
Bago’s is located along the shore of Swallow’s Beach – which has some of the nicest water in Tobago. Enjoy a refreshing rum punch while listening to the crashing waves and watching the sky turn from beautiful blue to fiery shades of red to match your drink.
This is a tame spot that closely early doesn’t typically draw a large crowd. Perfect for those that prefer to keep it low key.

2. Renmar’s Restaurant and Cocktail Bar (Pigeon Point)
Rennar’s is a local favourite near Pigeon Point, known for rum punches that pack a serious punch. Strong, sweet, and perfectly chilled, it’s the kind of drink that sneaks up on you in the best way. The vibe is lively and fun, making it a great spot to kick off (or end) a night out in Tobago.
The choice between Renmar’s and Traditions is simply which one you are closer to.

3. Traditions Bar & Grill (Pigeon Point)
Bright, colorful, and beachy, their rum punch pairs perfectly with a day at Pigeon Point. They are always playing the best music. Sip by the bar or on the sand.

4. Café Down Low (Buccoo)
This is a great place to spend the afternoon. Laid back, good vibes can be found “down low” where you will sip on one of the most serene rum punches in Tobago.

5. 1763 Restaurant & Bar (Mount Irvine)
Located on one of the best beaches in Tobago, 1763’s cocktails are not to be missed. You can choose to sit by the bar, the restaurant, or even right on the beach. 1763 is known to host Friday Night Fish Frys accompanied by a beautiful bamboo bonfire. I highly recommend you check it out if they are hosting while you are in Tobago.
It’s hard to resist ordering a rum punch after a snorkeling session. The perfect cool down drink as you watch the beach go from day to night.

6. Anchor Bar & Grill (Mount Irvine)
Anchor is the spot for vibes. Here you can expect loud music, strong drinks and an energetic crowd. Also, expect to wait. I warned you, don’t get frustrated. Just remember, you’re waiting for a rum punch on the beach in Tobago. Can you really complain?
Each night offers something different – from karaoke to sax night to award winning DJs. If you’re lucky, you might happen to be there on an “all you can drink rum punch” kinda night.

7. Legger’s Bar (Black Rock)
The OG rum punch in Tobago – strong, fruity, and unforgettable. A true island classic. This one is my go to spot for rum punch in Tobago. You also can’t beat the vibe here. Epic sea views, incredible music and good people. If you’re feeling hungry – you can’t go wrong with their wings and fries.

8. The Fish Pot (Black Rock)
Known for having the freshest seafood in Tobago, you won’t regret adding a rum punch to your order. Here you will find the perfect lunch in Tobago. Catch of the day paired with their famous pasta and an ice cold rum punch.

9. Waves Restaurant & Bar (Black Rock)
After a day of swimming, make your way to Waves. Sit at a sea-side table for front row seats to an amazing sunset over Stonehaven Bay (also known as Grafton Beach). Here you will find good music (occasionally live pan), a calm atmosphere and views you can’t beat.
After a sunset cocktail, I recommend that you head up the stairs to Seahorse for dinner (and maybe another rum punch).

10. Seahorse Restaurant & Bar (Black Rock)
Elegant and romantic, Seahorse’s rum punch is smooth and balanced — best after a long day in the sun. If you are looking for somewhere fancy with first class service, this is the absolute must visit spot. Every dish we have ate here has been divine.

Cheers to the Best Rum Punches in the World
Although I am trying to opt for healthier (less sugary) drinks such as tequila, coconut water, lime juice and bitters. I still can’t resist a rum punch living in Tobago. It is truly a cultural staple here. Since everyone has their own spin on it, you really have to sip around to find your favourite.
